On your marks!

Today was a really exciting and momentous day for me as I got to actually see the garden site where my idea would become reality – albeit with a lot of hard work from everyone involved.

When I arrived at the crack of dawn this morning I was surprised at how small the space looked. But once we started marking it out I began to see how it will take shape. It’s amazing – and a little overwhelming – to think that in just over a week’s time this empty space will be transformed into my design.

Peter at Hilliers is doing a fantastic job and knows exactly what he’s doing. It’s vital we get the marking-out spot on so the team know exactly what goes where.

This is a million miles away from doing my own garden! He doesn’t seem to mind me bombarding him with questions either, though I hope it doesn’t affect his measurements!

This is such a great opportunity for a novice like me and I’m determined to make the most of it and learn from the experts.

So, now the garden is marked the hard work begins in earnest. What have I got myself into?
