Day four
14th June 08
Almost over the finishing line now. The end is in sight!
I’m absolutely shattered. The past four days have really taken
it out of me.
It feels like I’ve spent the weekend at Glastonbury, rather than
BBC Gardener’s World Live.
But it’s been such great fun.
Planning and preparing for the show – as well as being here with
the garden – has consumed so much time I’m not really sure what
I’ll do when it’s all over (after a nice long rest, of course).
Sarah, poor dear, will be off to Hampton when we’ve done here –
I don’t envy the hard work setting up the garden (again!) but I am
a bit jealous, I have to say.
I could get used to this. It, like the inspiration for the
garden, really is the good life.
Winning the competition has opened my eyes to the whole, wide
world of exhibitions and, if I haven’t made it too obvious, I find
it rather appealing.
I’m already starting to plan my next garden, and will definitely
be looking for ways to improve the practicality and sustainability
too – the eco-gardens have really struck a chord with the public
and I think it’s important that all gardeners begin to take these
green themes on board.
