The Winner
Heather stumbled across her love of garden design largely by
accident.
When she was left with a building site for a
garden after a house build four years ago, Heather needed to know
the right questions to ask a landscaper so enrolled on a garden art
and design course. Having never so much as planted a seed
before, she was surprised to find that she loved it.
She has now drawn up plans for a new garden
herself and is looking forward to finally getting some plants in
the ground.
Heather lives in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, with
her husband Andy. She’s currently enjoying her freedom now that her
three grown up children, Alex, Jamie and Emmie, have all flown the
nest.
Over the years she’s worked as a window
dresser, in advertising and as a busy full time mum. She has
also drawn up plans for a number of property renovations and,
having already gained a distinction in her diploma, Heather is now
studying for a BA in Garden Art and Design at Leeds Metropolitan
University.
