Project planting
5th June 08
No sooner have I put down my trowel from one show than I’m on to
the next. After a fantastic Chelsea I’m here at BBC Gardeners’
World Live with Heather planting up for the show. And I have to say
it makes a refreshing change!
After the stress of Chelsea it’s nice to be at this show, which
has a more laidback feel, although obviously the work is still to
the same high standards and planting is a crucial part of the
process. Of course, I’m secretly hoping for another Gold. But I’d
better not tell Heather that, she’s nervous enough as it is!
It’s different for me to be working from someone else’s design.
But Heather has done such a great job and is so keen to get
involved that it’s been fun and I’m keen to support anyone looking
to break into the world of show gardens as it can be a tough nut to
crack!
The hard landscaping is down and looks great and will work
really well with the plants Heather has chosen. I just hope we get
everything done in time. It doesn’t matter how big or small the
show, the pressure is always on and I’m well aware of the big clock
ticking away until showtime...
